TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) - Alabama has hired Colorado defensive coordinator Greg Brown as secondary coach.

Coach Nick Saban said Wednesday that Brown's college and NFL experience "made him the perfect fit for the position." The two-time defending national champions had to replace Jeremy Pruitt, who left to become Florida State's defensive coordinator.

Brown spent the past two seasons running Colorado's defense in his third stint with the program and was co-defensive coordinator at Arizona in 2010. He has also coached for a number of NFL teams, capped by a job as a defensive assistant with the New Orleans Saints from 2002-05.

He says "it is the dream of any defensive coach to learn from coach Saban."
