Former Alabama quarterback A.J. McCarron wasn't taken until the fifth round of the NFL draft over the weekend, when he was selected by Cincinnati.
Maybe that left McCarron licking his wounds a bit because he later said a lot of people didn't know he played hurt at Alabama,
and that he sacrificed a lot for Nick Saban and the University.
Saban was in Montgomery on Tuesday on the Crimson Caravan tour.
He was asked about McCarron's comments and specifically if McCarron played hurt.
Said Saban,"It does surprise me because he was never that way to me, and I think if you ask a lot of his teammates, they would probably say the same. I think that A.J. is a very good person. And regardless of what he ever said to you, in whatever way he left you with an impression, if he could do something to help you, he would be the first one there to do it."
