TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) - Several people who witnessed Alabama cornerback Tony Brown's encounter with police this weekend say their recollection is different from information authorities provided to the media.
Tuscaloosa police have said Brown threatened officers who were responding to a noise complaint at a party Saturday. Police say they told him to leave a parking lot.
Jaison Davis, of Atlanta, and 19-year-old Richard Sharper told AL.com (http://bit.ly/1hJWPVk ) that Brown, of Beaumont, Texas, was walking away from police toward his car when he was pepper-sprayed in the face.
The 18-year-old freshman was charged with failure to obey and resisting arrest. He's free on $1,500 bond and it's unclear if he has an attorney.
Police have declined to release an arrest report and Sgt. Brent Blankley says the department isn't commenting further on the case.
