AUBURN, Ala. (AP) - Auburn guard Chad Slade says the word of the week is finishing.
The Tigers go into Saturday's visit to Vanderbilt having been outscored 62-3 in the fourth quarter through six games. No other Southeastern Conference team has scored fewer than 21.
Slade says the Tigers can't "keep shooting ourselves in the foot."
Auburn certainly hasn't followed through on the players' surge toward their fans with four fingers upraised at the end of every third quarter.
Coach Gene Chizik says it comes down to turnovers and explosive plays allowed and produced.
The Tigers have committed nine fourth-quarter turnovers. Quarterbacks Kiehl Frazier and Clint Moseley have each been intercepted three times in the final 15 minutes.
They've combined for 56 passing yards in the fourth against Clemson, Louisiana-Monroe, LSU and Mississippi.
