AUBURN, Ala. (AP) - Auburn opened preseason camp with a continuing quarterback battle and minus two recent signees.

Clint Moseley and Kiehl Frazier's competition at quarterback carried over from the spring under new offensive coordinator Scot Loeffler. Moseley was limited during the spring with a sore shoulder and says "there's definitely a sense of urgency."

Frazier says the two shared time with the first-team in Wednesday's opening practice.

Coach Gene Chizik says freshman quarterback Zeke Pike and cornerback Jonathan Rose have left the program and plan to transfer. Pike enrolled in January but Chizik sent him home after his arrest for public intoxication in June.

Rose was one of last year's top signees, but played sparingly as a freshman.

The Tigers are also seeking a replacement for tailback Mike Dyer.
