Georgia Asks SEC to Review Hit on Murray
Georgia athletic director Greg Mcgarity has asked the SEC to review the legality of the hit on quarterback Aaron Murray in the SEC Championship game.
Alabama defensive lineman Quinton Dial hit Murray above the shoulder following Murray's interception just before halftime. Dial was not penalized on the play, but NCAA rules mandate that conference offices review any flagrant personal foul or targeting for possible future punishment.
SEC Commissioner Mike Slive will review the hit and determine if Dial should be suspended for a game, which would be the national title game. Slive has suspended two players for one game this season for similar type hits.
