Georgia Promotes Russ the Mascot to UGA IX
Russ the Bulldog has served as Georgia's interim mascot for the past couple of years. But now he's got the gig permanently.
The University announced today that RUSS has earned the right to be called UGA IX. In a press release, the schools says Russ earned a battlefield promotion. Georgia football fans claim Russ has moved from being a walk-on to earning a scholarship. Russ was forced into action the last two seasons following the deaths of UGA VII and UGA VIII. Russ is the half-brother of UGA VII.
