Mark Richt's third ranked Georgia team takes on No. 2 Alabama in a Southeastern Conference title game that essentially serves as a national semifinal. The winner of Saturday's contest at the Georgia Dome likely claims a spot against top-ranked Notre Dame for the BCS title on Jan. 7.

While Alabama (11-1) is a touchdown favorite to remain on course for its third crown in four years, Georgia (11-1) is eager to carve out a legacy beyond the great teams of the early 1980s led by Herschel Walker.

Said Richt,"This game is unbelievable as far as the passion of it, and the atmosphere. And just what it means." Added Bama coach Nick Saban,"I mean, I've been in this game three times since I've been at Alabama. And every time it's a playoff game. We played Florida twice, we were one and two. And now, we are ranked two and three. Whoever is two or three doesn't matter."

Kickoff is at 4pm, and it will be televised on WDEF News 12.
