The Lady Mocs haven't lost at McKenzie Arena in two years. Last night, they set a school record with their 26th consecutive home win. Just don't mention that streak to head coach Wes Moore. "We don't talk about that much. It's kind of like a no-hitter. A perfect game or whatever in the dugout. Just keep moving. It's a great accomplishment. Again, it just says something about first of all our kids, and how they consistently show up and play hard."

The Lady Mocs also set a new season attendance record by averaging 2,550 fans a game this year. Said guard Kayla Christopher,"It's a special place. I think it's the people here bringing the energy, the band." Added forward Ashlen Dewart,"There's not another gym like this in the Southern Conference, especially for women's games. Our crowd is unheard of in the conference games."

Coach Moore says the opposition can feel the Lady Mocs home court advantage. "I know Karen Middleton from Western commented on Saturday about the atmosphere and how it took her kids awhile to get used to that."

Moore appreciates the support from UTC fans, and the Mocs pep band. "It hasn't happened in the last couple of years, but I can remember when the band didn't show up every game. It can be dead. Even with a decent crowd if you don't have the band, the Sugar Mocs and the cheerleaders. That atmosphere makes a big difference. Yeah, the band and I have a special bond."
