After a frustrating loss to App State last Saturday, it doesn't get any easier for the Mocs this weekend. They hit the road against the 11th ranked Bulldogs of the Citadel. The SoCon grind is underway for Chattanooga. They're about to play their second straight ranked conference opponent. Said head coach Russ Huesman,"Well, I wish we weren't playing such a high quality opponent."

The Bulldogs already own wins over App State and Georgia Southern. Said Huesman,"I think they have done a great job of identifying players for their system. Now all of a sudden, you're playing with fourth and fifth year seniors, and they're pretty good."

The Citadel is one of three teams that run the option in the Southern Conference. While UTC has experience against those option attacks, it doesn't make defending them any easier. Said Huesman,"The toughest part with playing the triple option is getting the look team to simulate it. It's hard. The speed is never even close to what you are going to see."

To figure out the Citadel's option offense, the Mocs are studying another Socon option team. Said Huesman,"We actually try to watch what Georgia Southern wanted to do to them. Not saying we are going to do that. You see how they like to defend things. How does Citadel like to attack what Georgia Southern because they know the offense so well."

The Mocs are now 1-3 on the year. Making the playoffs will be tough, but don't tell that to Coach Huesman. "I don't think along those lines. I think we are going to get on a roll, and we're going to go. We've got to go play hard and win this football game."
