Chattanooga-(WDEF) Mocs coach Russ Huesman says Keon Williams looks like a big time back. More importantly, Williams is running like a big time back. He's a big reason why UTC has rushed for over 200-yards in their last six games.

Keon Williams had plenty of time to stretch last year. He didn’t start a single game, and he rushed for only 155-yards. “Sitting on that sideline, it didn’t feel good.”

But heading into this season, Williams said he wanted to quote--shock his offensive coordinator-- by his effort. “Go out every day and play like your hair is on fire. Every day just showing that you are dedicated. I just want to be the best.” Said Coach Huesman,“He made a commitment in fall camp to be great, and it’s paying off for him.”

The commitment to be great includes much more time watching film. “Me and Terrell Robinson are roommates. He has an I-Pad, and you can put film on the I-Pad of every opponent every week. I watch it every day after I get my schoolwork done. We get some free time, and we just go over the film and dissect the film.” Reporter-“Does Terrell ever say, I want my I-Pad back?” Said Williams,
“Yeah, I do kind of keep it hostage. (laughter) I hold it hostage.”

This season, Williams is second in the SoCon in rushing with 687-yards, and he has racked up ten touchdowns. “My line, they tell me every day that they are proud of the way I run. Not just me, but all the backs with the way we run the ball. Today we were talking in the weight room that they want to help me reach 1,000 yards.”

Huesman believes Williams can reach that thousand yard plateur if he keeps doing what he has been doing. “Put the ball in your hand and run hard. Probably good things are going to happen for you.”
