Chattanooga-(WDEF) Chattanooga sits in first place in the SoCon standings with two league games to go. But as scheduling fate would have it, those two games are against the teams currently tied for second, starting with 15th ranked Wofford at Finley Stadium on Saturday. It's the regular season home finale for UTC, and it's being billed as the 'Biggest Game Ever at Finley Stadium' for the Mocs football program.

Chattanooga should have plenty of confidence heading into their conference showdown with Wofford. The Mocs rallied late to beat their last two opponents in the Citadel and App State. Said head coach Russ Huesman,"Yeah, I think the last two games have done a lot for our team. I really do."

With those last two victories, Chattanooga is now 7-2 first time since 1980. Said quarterback Jacob Huesman,"Somebody asked me the other day. How ya'll doing? I was like well, we're 7-2 right now. Kind of did a double-take. Like wow, that sounds good to say. Definitely a nice change up to be able to tell somebody we're doing really well. We're 7-2. Ranked now. It's pretty big time."

But Wofford is big time too. The Terriers have won the last two meetings by a combined four points. Said defensive back Chaz Moore,"Since I've been here, I've never beaten Wofford. Wofford has some technician down football players. They know how to play ball."

But if UTC wins on Saturday, they'll control their own destiny for the SoCon title. Said Russ Huesman,"I think you can talk about it being a big game. I'm good with that. I told our team on Sunday. We've got a team that's coming in here that's playing for the same thing you are playing for right now. They're going to be hungry." Added Moore,"Every game is a playoff game for us right now. We're just trying to get a ring, a conference championship, and we'll go from there. But the only thing we are worrying about is Wofford."

Kickoff is at 2pm on Saturday. It marks only the second time that two ranked teams have faced off at Finley Stadium. UTC is 23rd in the latest FCS coaches poll.
