More All American Honors For Mocs Davis Tull

University of Tennessee at Chattanooga sophomore Davis Tull was named to the Walter Camp Football Foundation 2012 Football Championship Subdivision All-America team today The team was selected by the head coaches and sports information directors of the Football Championship Subdivision schools and certified by the accounting and auditing firm, Marcum LLP. It is the fourth All-American honor for Tull, a former walk-on turned starting defensive end for the Mocs.

Tull is the first UTC football student-athlete to earn recognition on four All-American teams in one season since punter Pumpy Tudors in 1990. He has already garnered spots on the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) first team and Associated Press (AP) and The Sports Network second teams.

Tull, the 2012 Southern Conference Defensive Player of the Year, is a native of Knoxville, Tenn. He led the SoCon with a UTC single-season record 19.0 TFLs and 12.5 sacks. He finished the year fifth on the team with 56 tackles while forcing three fumbles. He is currently second on the Mocs' all-time list with 17.5 career sacks.

Tull was also named to the CoSIDA Capital One Academic All-District team for his work in the classroom. He currently carries a 3.43 g.p.a. as a Health & Human Performance major. He is one of three All-Americans for the Mocs this season, including junior linebacker Wes Dothard (Sports Network 3rd Team, College Sports Madness 3rd Team) and sophomore tight-end Faysal Shafaat (College Sports Madness 3rd Team).
