CHATTANOOGA, Tenn.--- The Chattanooga Mocs football squad had three student-athletes mention on the Sports Network FCS Preseason All-American teams. Davis Tull, Wes Dothard, and Kadeem Wise all star on defense for Russ Huesman’s Mocs.

“Each one is a key member of our defense,” Huesman stated. “They’re leaders on and off the field and are very deserving of this recognition.”

Tull, a junior defensive end and reigning Southern Conference Defensive Player of the Year, was posted on the first team defense. He was a second team All-American on the 2012 squad ranking second in the nation with a school-record 12.5 sacks. Not only is he dominant on the field, he’s a Dean’s List student in the classroom.

Dothard is a two-time All-American at linebacker for the Mocs. He was a first team pick in 2011 and third team just a season ago after a preseason second team nod as well in 2012. He led the team in tackles last year with 94 after 98 stops in 2011.

Wise is looking to be a four-year start at cornerback for UTC this fall. He also received preseason recognition in 2012 from Phil Steele’s publication. He’s a three-time All-SoCon pick in the defensive backfield, an honor unmatched in Chattanooga’s history in the league.

The trio marks three of 10 returning starters on one of the stingiest defenses in FCS football. Chattanooga was 10th nationally in total defense (307.9 ypg) and 18th in scoring defense (20.4 ppg) ranking second in both categories in the SoCon in 2012.
