Chattanooga-(WDEF) Imagine going on a job interview, and they ask you what you plan to bring to the organization. And you say chaos. It worked for Will Wade. He was introduced as the Mocs new men's basketball coach on Tuesday. Wade is bringing the up-tempo Havoc attack from VCU, and turning it into chaos at UTC. Said Wade at Tuesday's press conference, "When you think Chattanooga, you are going to think chaos."

Kind of funny that a guy who preaches chaos, is the son of a principal. Wade's mom was a high school principal. No wonder his press conference looked like a classroom presentation. Said Wade, "Offensively, we are going to sprint out in transition. We are going to shoot the three ball, and we are going to be relentless on the offensive glass. Defensively, we are going to press you for 94-feet and guard every floorboard." Said Mocs athletic director David Blackburn, "People can relate to that. When you do see that, it is more fun to watch. That was not the reason we made the decision. But it just so happened that that fits with entertainment, and that is a part of it." Added Wade, "As I told the players yesterday, I said you are going to have more fun than you've ever had in your life playing basketball. But. You are also going to work harder than you've ever had to work in your life playing basketball."

Casey Long understands chaos will take a lot of work. The Mocs assistant was named to Wade's staff. Said Long, "It's difficult to simulate it because it takes a lot of stuff off the court to get you prepared for it. It takes a lot of things in the weight room, conditioning wise, mind set wise, and motivational wise. There are going to be tough days, but you have to get through it."

Wade told WGOW radio that he plans to bring in an ex-Navy seal for some of the training. And Wade says he'll be participating too. But even Captain Chaos has limits. "When I talked to the players yesterday, I usually let them run me over for a charge. We've done that. But I told Z Mason. I said everybody else can run me over but you. I'm not taking one from you. I've got a vision for the program to become through the chaos brand, one of the premier programs within the Southern Conference."
