KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Tennessee coach Butch Jones will be grand marshal at the Food City 500 that takes place March 17 at Bristol Motor Speedway.

The university announced Wednesday Jones' participation in the event.

Jones was hired Dec. 7 to replace Derek Dooley, who was fired Nov. 18 after going 15-21 in three seasons. Jones owns a 50-27 record in six seasons at Central Michigan (2007-09) and Cincinnati (201-12).

Tennessee begins its first spring practice under Jones on March 9.

The Food City 500 starts at 1 p.m. on March 17.
