Former Vols quarterback Casey Clausen has been named the head football coach at Calabasas High School in California. The former Vols signal caller will be joined by brother and fellow VFL Rick Clausen as an assistant coach.

Casey Clausen has been a key assistant for six years at Oaks Christian. Rick will run the offense and coach the quarterbacks.

Clausen is 66-12 since 2008 as an Oaks Christian offensive coordinator. He switches to a program that has struggled in recent years, going 0-10 last season and 3-27 over the last three years.

The Los Angeles Daily News has a story on the hiring: Oaks Christian's Casey Clausen named new coach for Calabasas football team

Here are some of Casey's comments from the story:

"I'm really excited about this," Clausen said. "Obviously, I'm looking forward to an opportunity to build a program over there, a program to be proud of. I got a lot of experience at Oaks Christian and learned a lot. I can't thank (former Oaks Christian coach) Bill Redell and (Oaks Christian head coach) Jeff Woodruff enough."

In relation to working with brother Rick, Casey said:

"He's pretty excited. It's a great opportunity for both of us," he said. "We're looking forward to going over there and building something."
