Gary Danielson Says Vols Need Florida Win "Very, Very Badly"
CBS kicks off their college football coverage this weekend. Analyst Gary Danielson and the rest of the CBS annoucing team spoke with the media on a conference call, where Danielson sized up the Vols-Gators game, including the return of UT receiver Justin Hunter. Said Danielson,"Justin Hunter would be a tough matchup in the NFL. Let alone college football. He's like A.J. Green and Julio Jones. The Reuben Randle's. Those high level players that theoretically, if the rules were different, could be playing at a different level."
On the importance of the game for Tennessee, considering they have lost seven straight in the series. Said Danielson,"One thing I have learned in my six years here Verne (Lundquist) and Tim (Brando). There's really no small games in this conference. And Tennessee needs this one very badly. I think for where they are headed. For their fans and for their athletic director Dave Hart, I think Tennessee needs this game very, very badly. I really like the way they are positioned. I think they are due to beat somebody. We'll see. Florida showed a lot of resolve against Texas A&M. I'll have to say that."
