Tennessee Vols head coach Butch Jones is expected to name junior Justin Worley as his starting quarterback for the opener against Austin Peay. An official announcement isn't expected until Monday.
Worley is the only quarterback on the UT roster with any game experience. Worley has appeared in 9 games, including three starts in 2011, throwing for 738 yards, a touchdown, and five interceptions.
The junior beat out redshirt freshman Nathan Peterman, and true freshmen Riley Ferguson and Josh Dobbs.
Jones says the quarterback competition will continue throughout the season.
Tennessee's first year coach is no stranger to QB changes, benching Munchie Legaux in favor of Brandon Kay at Cincinnati despite a 6-2 start.
