Vols receiver Pig Howard earned a spot in the starting lineup for Tennessee's opener against Utah State, and that's somewhat surprising. Even though Howard led the team in receptions and touchdown catches last year, he missed all of spring practice after taking a leave of absence.
But Howard worked his way back on the team, and he's making the most of his second chance.
Said head coach Butch Jones,"First of all, I thought he changed his whole body make-up. His whole body structure. He was in the best shape he has ever been in his career here. He brought it every day, and he didn't say two words. Just kept working and working and working."
Added quarterback Justin Worley,"His work ethic has been over and beyond what it was before. And you could see that he really wants to make a name for himself and prove himself again."
