Vols Prepare to Defend Clowney
South Carolina defensive end Jadeveon Clowney has just been named to the final seven on the Maxwell Award watch list. This honor goes to the best college football player in the country.
Clowney is second in the SEC in both sacks and tackles for a loss. He'll certainly be a tough challenge for a Vols offensive line on Saturday that has allowed the fewest sacks in the SEC this season. Said Vols offensive lineman Antonio Richardson,"He's probably the best defensive end in the country in the last decade or so. I mean he's good. He's that good." Said Vols offensive coordinator Jim Chaney,"He's definitely one of those elite players that if you are not aware of where he's at or what he's doing, he'll wreck your game plan in a heartbeat." Added head coach Derek Dooley,"The minute you do something different and try to put a tight end or back on him, you can forget about it. It's over. So he can wreck your game plan, and he does it to almost every team."
