Cleveland-(WDEF) A new color is washing over Bradley Central this season, concerning their helmets. Said head coach Damon Floyd,"Yeah, we went from the black to the white. The kids wanted to do it. It's their team. We try to keep them excited. Anything we can do to help them out." Reporter-"Your impressions of the new white helmets at Bradley Central." Said receiver Dee Crisp,"Oh, I like them. Definitely. All white jerseys. Going to be nasty this year."

The Bears have replaced their helmets, and they'll be replacing quarterback Bryce Copeland, who started for four seasons. Said Floyd,"Well right now we are in a quarterback competition. We've got five guys that we really do feel confident with that can go out there and play on Friday nights." Said quarterback Brett Standifer,"It is a lot. You get limited to your reps in practice, but it does create competition. That just gets everyone going and makes you better as a whole."

Bradley Central has been in the mix for the district title the last two years, but McMinn County has been a big stumbling block. Said Crisp,"Past couple of years, we have kind of been stumped with McMinn. Last year was a kind of a let down because we were up 21-0, and they came back and we lost. I'm trying to push my teammates. Trying to get everybody over that hump and win this district championship. Get this title."

Coach Floyd admits he will know more about his team after a few scrimmages, but he already likes their attitude. "Well this team is really close. They really like each other. They've grown up with each other. Really close friends." Said Standifer,"We're all hanging out outside of practice every day. My mom calls me all the time. She has to make me come home." Added Floyd,"I don't know how many great athletes we have, but if we play as a team and do the little things for each other, we'll be okay."
