Chattanooga-(WDEF) Tyner Coach Wayne Turner is renewed and revitalized heading into the 2013 season, thanks to his squad's new attitude. "The last couple of years we may not have come out here with as much intensity and enthusiasm to make things fun. It was a little tough on me to try and make things fun for them, but this year we are making things fun for me, so we are learning and doing a lot of things together."

Armed with a new enthusiasm, the old formula of speed and strength will be a key for the Rams. Said Turner,"We've always had tremendous people up front with good size and good agility and quickness. This year we have the agility and quickness, but we just don't have the size. I think we still have the same kind of heart out of those offensive linemen." Added quarterback Haasan Miller,"Our line can hold up against anyone this year. They have a lot of confidence in themselves, and we have a lot of confidence in them. They are the foundation of this offense." Said tackle Jared Leslie,"We are going to play harder and smarter than we did last year. We are coming to bring the heat. We are going to pancake people this year, and we're going to be eating a lot."

It has been a playoff famine the last 8 years however, advancing past the first round only once. Said Turner,"We've got to do a lot better job of executing offensively and defensively on both sides of the ball, and eliminate the turnovers like we did last year in the playoffs. Since we've gone to this new TSSAA format, we've had a pretty bad draw every year except for maybe last year. When you go play Alcoa every year in the first round, that's not where you want to be first round."

But the squad is confident there will be no one and done this season. Said running back Willie Stewart,"We would get the big head and be arguing a lot, and we would separate as a team. This year we are trying to become a team from the first game to the last game because we don't want to hang our jerseys up too soon."
