Several former Auburn football players claim the Tigers broke NCAA rules under former head coach Gene Chizik. According to a report by Roopstigo.com, the alleged violations included grade changes, paying players not to turn pro, and giving players extra money to entertain recruits.
Former Tiger Michael McNeil says he had a letter grade changed from an F to a C. McNeil added that the team was told as many as nine players would not play in the 2011 BCS national title game against Oregon because of poor grades. But all wound up playing, as the Tigers won 22-19 to claim the national championship. McNeil was later kicked off the Auburn team in March of 2011 after being arrested on robbery charges. He is scheduled for trial later this month.
