When junior Brooke Copeland is finished playing her basketball game at Bradley Central, she always hangs around to watch her big brother Bryce play in the boys game. The siblings are outstanding athletes, and their relationship has helped mold them into the players they are today.

Brooke and Bryce were your typical brother and sister growing up, especially with the name-calling. Said Brooke,"Him and all of his friends would call me fat and chubby and stuff. That kind of hurt my feelings. Yeah, he used to have a gap between his teeth, so I would call him Sponge Bob. And then I would call him shrimp. Every time he would call me fat, I'd be like, you're just mad because you are not as tall as me, and I would call him a shrimp."

Brooke always tried to storm her brother's back-yard football games. Said Bryce,"I said Brooke, you've got to go inside and stay in the house. She would always try to run out there and take the football from us, and we would all try to catch her and stuff." Added Brooke,"They would tackle me and try to catch me."

Despite the ribbing from her brother, Brooke always looked up to Bryce. Said Brooke,"When we were little, he was always the stud. The angel child from God."

Bryce now tries to coach up his younger sister. Said Bryce,"Well, I always tell her she needs to slow down. She usually catches the ball, and she's going 100 miles-an-hour right when she catches it. If she would slow down and gather herself, she could score forty."

Both Copeland's are averaging close to 20-points a game. And there's always a friendly wager on their point totals. Said Bryce,"It's just bragging rights I guess. Just competition." And Brooke looked to own those braggin' rights when she scored 32 against Cleveland this year. Said Bryce,"I think she had 24 in the first half. I was like dang, this is going to be tough. She ended up with 32. But I can honestly say, that's one of the only games she has beaten me in." Brooke quickly added a no to that comment from her brother.

Bryce is a senior, so this will be the last year the siblings will be in high school together. Said Bryce,"We have become a lot closer than what we were before high school because we have been together for three years." Said Brooke, "I love having him. During football season, being able to go to his games and say, that's my brother. That's really special to me. It's going to suck really bad after next year when he's not here anymore. And I can't say, that's my brother. It's going to be sad."
