Knoxville-(WDEF) Butch Jones rocked the spring game. How bout a DJ booth with former Vol Arian Foster spinning the hits. Jones had kids calling plays, as well as a Duck Dynasty star. Said offensive lineman Ja'Wuan James,"Coach Jones was the President today felt like. He was kissing babies and stuff. (chuckles) It was fun. Felt like a concert."

This House party drew 61,000. Second largest spring game crowd in UT history. Said Jones,"Why would you not want to come here. When you see this environment. When you see the chance to build something special." Added linebacker Jacques Smith,"Coach Jones has just established an environment where football is fun for us."

As far as the game, it was the offense against the defense, and the defense had the most fun. Max Arnold had a 62-yard interception return for a touchdown, and the defense recorded 17 tackles for a loss. Said Smith,"I think we are very comfortable because of the scheme. It's a 4-3. It's something that we are used to. Lot of guys played it in high school. It's like a natural fit."

Cody Blanc had the only offensive touchdown of the game on a 58-yard reception from Justin Worley. UT had several receivers out with injuries. That might explain quarterbacks Justin Worley and Nathan Pederman combining for 17 of 41 in the passing game. Said Worley,"It was a little sloppy. Too many penalties. Too many missed assignments that we can easily fix. They're just little small things." Added Jones,"What we have to find is play-makers."

The defense won this spring performance 95-71. And afterwards, all the players joined the band for Rocky top.
