Former Tenn Temple Star Jeremy Sexton Honored

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Charleston Southern senior guard Jeremy Sexton, who played high school ball in Chattanooga at Tennessee Temple, has been named the Big South Conference Choice Hotels Men’s Basketball Player of the Week. 

Sexton averaged 24.5 points, 4.0 steals and 3.5 rebounds in leading the Buccaneers to two victories last week.  He opened his week with 15 points and a career-high six steals to help rally CSU past UNC Asheville on Jan. 16.  Sexton scored 10 points and recorded three steals after the Bulldogs took a 12-point lead in the second half.  On Saturday against High Point, Sexton was near perfect with a career-best 34 points on 12-of-13 shooting from the field -- including 8-of-9 from three-point range.  He also grabbed five rebounds and had two steals against the Panthers.  For the week, Sexton was 19-of-25 from the field ( =76.0 percent) and 9-of-14 from beyond the arc ( =64.3).
