Mocs coach John Shulman says he would love to have ten guys on his team like freshman guard Gee McGhee. What McGhee lacks in experience, he makes up for it with toughness and a strong desire to win.

Nobody has logged more playing time for Chattanooga than Gee McGhee. He has played 54 more minutes than anyone else on the team, and he's just a freshman. Said McGhee,"Coach Shulman told me I'm not a freshman anymore, so I need to take that into consideration. I don't feel like I'm a freshman anymore."

McGhee has seen increased playing time with the injuries to Casey Jones and Dontay Hampton. Said Shulman,"He came here to defend. He's not the most skilled offensive guy in the world. But I'm just going to tell you, if you'll play hard and be a tough guy, you'll be able to have success." Added McGhee,"I take pride in what I do. When I feel like I want to be the best at something, I'm going to do that to the best of my ability. I defend hard. Play hard. Just do everything to the top." Said Shulman,"He wants to win. It was quite evident after the Georgia Southern loss. He played great. Got us back in the game. Played great. Who's sitting their in tears after the game is Gee."

Even before McGhee suited up for Chatttanooga, Coach Shulman noticed his toughness."He could play football. He's a tough guy. But more than that, he is mentally tough. This is the same kid that played an AAU game. He played in a game in Vegas. Took the red eye to Orlando, and played the next morning in Orlando. So he's a pretty tough guy."

Shulman would love to see McGhee get a little tougher at the foul line. "He has shot a ton of free throws. That's where he can score points. He's shooting at about a 58 percent clip, which isn't very good. That's something he can go back and work on. He is working on it. He can really be an impact guy for us."
