UNC Greensboro (8-18, 6-9 Southern Conference) opened on a 7-2 run but Chattanooga trimmed the deficit to two, 11-9, on a pair of Z. Mason free throws. UNC Greensboro answered the free throws with three consecutive 3-pointers to pull away and took a 47-29 lead into halftime.

UNC Greensboro shot 48.6 percent (34 of 70), compared to 35 percent (19 of 53) for the Mocs (11-17, 6-9), and dished out a season-high 27 assists, including 15 in the first half.

Mason had 21 for Chattanooga while the other four starters made just 6 of 25 shots.
