Howard pulled away to beat rival Brainerd 63-49 on Friday night at Howard. The Panthers Orlando Moore got a putback to beat the buzzer before halftime to put Brainerd of 27-25. The teams were back and forth in the third quarter, but the Hustlin' Tigers got it going in the final period. Brandon Walters paced Howard with 19 points and 18 rebounds.
