Lady Mocs Not Focused on Earning At-Large Bid to Big Dance
The Lady Mocs head into the SoCon tournament with the number one seed after winning the regular season title. Chattanooga is 26-3 on the year, and they own victories over two SEC teams, including the Lady Vols.
But the Lady Mocs don't want to gamble on their resume to land them an at-large bid to the big dance. They want the automatic bid that comes with the SoCon tournament title. Said guard Kayla Christopher,"We have had a really good year. We don't even want to leave it up to chance. It's hard for a mid-major to get an at-large bid." Added head coach Wes Moore,"I don't think you want to count on that. I think you have to go over and realize you have to control your own destiny. That's definitely our mindset."
The Lady Mocs have an opening round bye. They will play either Georgia Southern or Western Carolina at noon on Saturday in Asheville, North Carolina.
