SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Chattanooga forward Taylor Hall led the Lady Mocs to a season-opening victory over No.20 Tennessee and has been named the Southern Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for all games through November 12.
The New Tazewell, Tenn., native tied her career-high in scoring with 24 points to lead the Lady Mocs to an 80-71 win over No.20 Tennessee in the Lady Vols’ first game without legendary head coach Pat Summitt, who stepped down as coach during the offseason after 38 years at the helm of the Lady Vols.
Hall also tallied nine rebounds and posted career-highs in assists (five) and steals (four) while tying her career-best in blocked shots with three while committing no turnovers. Hall was 9-of-12 from the field and 3-of-5 from beyond the arc while making 3-of-5 from the free throw line.
