CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – Zach Lee pitched a gem of game, throwing six innings of one-run ball, to highlight a stellar four-pitcher performance in the Lookouts’ 6-1 win over the Generals in Monday night action at AT&T Field. Jackson scored the first run of the game in the second inning, but the Lookouts tied up the game in the bottom of the third on a Rafael Ynoa RBI single.
The Lookouts plated three runs in the fourth inning to take the lead. Jake Lemmerman got the rally started by leading off with a solo shot off of Anthony Fernandez (4-3). Luis Nunez followed with a double, and J.T. continued walked to put two runners on. Blake Smith then laid down a well-executed bunt in which pitcher Anthony Fernandez unsuccessfully went to third on the play. Fernandez continued to struggle and proceeded to walk C.J. Retherford to account for the second run of the inning. Nick Buss then hit a sacrifice fly to deep center field to put the score at 4-1.
Chattanooga augmented their lead with a run on a Nunez RBI double in the fifth and C.J. Retherford RBI single in the seventh inning.
Rubby De La Rosa, Paco Rodriguez, and Steven Ames combined to shut out the Generals in the final three frames to preserve the 6-1 win.
Lee (3-3) picked up the win for the Lookouts, yielding just one run on three hits and a walk, while striking out six.
The Chattanooga Lookouts will and Jackson Generals will wrap-up their five-game series at 2:15 P.M., tomorrow. This will be the final regular season game played at AT&T Field.
