Cleveland, TN-(WDEF) Cleveland and McCallie have plenty of playmakers this season, and it was evident in the season opener for both teams, as the Blue Tornado beat the Blue Raiders 55-35. McCallie got the scoring party started on a short touchdown run from Andrew Busby. On Cleveland's next possession, quarterback Austin Herink hooked up with D.J. Jones for a 77-yard gain to the two yard line. Herink scored on the next play to tie the game. But before fans could catch their breathe, McCallie had a big aerial strike on their next series. JaVaughn Craig hit C.J. Fritz, who raced 71-yards for the score to make it 14-7. McCallie would never trail again. Herink added a 60-yard touchdown pass to Tyler Davis late in the first quarter to pull the Blue Raiders within 21-14. In the second quarter, McCallie quarterback JaVaughn Craig scored from about two yards out. The PAT was no good, as McCallie enjoyed a 27-14 lead at halftime. Both teams continued to pile up the points and yards in the second half with McCallie winning 55-35.
