Chattanooga-(WDEF) The worst part of the Mocs defensive effort against U-T Martin was the number of missed tackles. So how many were there? Said head coach Russ Huesman,"Thirty six. You must not think that's a lot, you didn't fall off the podium over there. I about fell out of my chair saying it again." Said defensive back Chaz Moore,"We know we had a bad game tackling. Like coach said, 36 missed tackles is unacceptable." Added Huesman,"The scramble for the touchdown by the (Skyhawks) quarterback was ridiculous. It's third and 12, and we've got a guy standing right there sizing him up, and he misses the tackle."

Huesman says he should have played more guys on defense because fatigue started creeping in. "I think part of the second half melt down you could just see. You could tell when you are sliding off tackles. You're running into a pile and throwing your elbow or shoulder in there and not wrapping up. Lot of it had to do with being tired."

Thanks to the poor tackling, the Skyhawks rushed for nearly 300-yards. Said Moore,"We were one of the best defenses in the country last year. For us to give up 300-yards rushing is unacceptable. So of course we want them (Ga State) to run the ball. We can show that we made progress from last week."

The Mocs certainly don't want the U-T Martin game to define their season. Said Moore,"Now we've got 11 games left. Just look at it as a learning experience. We must get better. There's no way we can play like that and be a good team in this conference."
