Chattanooga-(WDEF) Spring football practice got underway for the Chattanooga Mocs on Monday afternoon.
UTC is coming off an 8-4 season, where they barely missed the FCS playoffs.
Mocs return plenty of veteran players, but there will be some positions up for grabs this spring, including linebacker and defensive back.
Head coach Russ Huesman says he wouldn't mind solidifying some of those starting jobs at the end of spring.
Said Huesman,"You hope somebody jumps out at you in the spring, and there will be. There will be 3 or 4 people that will walk out of spring and we'll say, wow, we're so happy they're good. I mean, it happens. But then, there will be other spots where you wanna go through the summer like our backup quarterback situation. I can't imagine that thing is going to be solidified after spring practice."
