Chattanooga-(WDEF) For the Mocs to stay in the hunt for a SoCon title, they'll need to get a rare, road win against App State this weekend. UTC travels to Boone, North Carolina having lost 14 straight at Kidd Brewer Stadium.

If you thought winning at App State was hard, getting to App State might be even harder. Said running back Marquis Green,"It is kind of scary with those mountains. I mean, I'm from Florida, and we don't have any mountains. Driving on sides of cliffs is pretty scary on the sides of those mountains."

Head coach Russ Huesman believes the Mountaineers home crowd impacted UTC during their last visit to Boone. "We were down there kicking that field goal in the student section area there. You remember the snap off the guard's leg. They scooped it and scored. And I truly believe their crowd, and their crowd noise affected that play to a point where he hitches, and then we move, and he snaps. Hits the leg. Nobody can here a whistle blow."

App State has only two wins this season. But one of them came last weekend as they thrashed Georgia Southern 38-14. Said Huesman,"Georgia Southern game, they looked like a well-oiled machine to be honest with you." Added linebacker Muhasibi Wakeel,"App has had its share of adversity this season. When they beat Georgia Southern, I was like oh, we've got to come with it this week."

The last time UTC visited Kidd Brewer Stadium, they lost by only two points. The Mocs seem to go toe-to-toe with the SoCon giant, only to fall in the end. Said Green,"Been so close lately these last few years. Just been a few things that have been setting us back. It's a great game. Hope we come out victorious."
