Mocs coach Heath Eslinger has wrestled in a candle light dinner match before, and so he decided why not try it again.
"One of the things we are trying to do in wrestling is create events and not just wrestling matches. There's only a certain number of people that really care about wrestling matches. We want to create events. This is just one of those things that we can do to make it a better event."
Said wrestler Nicholas Soto,"My first reaction was kind of, what is that? I think it's kind of interesting and different. I think it should draw a pretty good crowd."
Added wrestler Corey Moc, "Everybody just asks what it means. You never hear of a candle light wrestling match. It's like, what could that possibly be? Everybody just asks what it is. You're just eating dinner around a match. Get to watch some good wrestling."
Eslinger describes what will take place for the fans this evening.
"We will valet park you. You will come in. You will start dinner. About 6:45 as you are finishing dinner, and we start dessert, the match will really get going. We're going to have music. All the  lights will be out. We're bringing in a lighting company to do all the lights. There will be candles on the table."
Reporter-"What do you think Gardner Webb is going to think on Monday night?"
Said Moc,"I'm sure they are totally confused too."
Given the mood lighting and mood music, will this be a romantic evening?
Said Soto,"Not for the guys who are wrestling. Definitely for everybody else."
Reporter-"Will you be wearing a tux?"
Said Eslinger,"I will not be wearing a tux. That would have been a good idea."
Reporter-"I wonder if they will get rowdy at the tables?"
Said Moc,"I was wondering the same thing. Are people going to be going nuts? Like food is going to be going all over the place. I was wondering the same thing."
