Northwest Whitfield beat rival Dalton 63-57 on Friday at NW Whitfield High School. The Bruins raced out to a 14-2 lead, and they maintained a nine point advantage at halftime. Dalton could never close the gap, as the Bruins led throughout the game. Dalton's Demond Rucker was the game's high scorer with 20 points. He also added nine rebounds.
