Tunnel Hill-(WDEF) The Northwest Whitfield soccer team opened the state playoffs with a hard fought win over Grady. The Bruins won 2-1 on penalty kicks.
They outscored Grady 4-1 on the PK's. The match was scoreless in the first half.
Northwest Whitfield grabbed the lead in the second half on a corner kick.
Cielo Nunuz put the kick in front of the net, and Giovanni Aguero got the header to make it 1-0. Grady answered not long after that with a goal of their own. The two teams played two scoreless overtime periods before the Bruins won on penalty kicks.
