Hixson coach Jason Fitzgerald has announced he's stepping down in order to take the head coaching job at Meigs Co. Fitzgerald told the Times Free Press that Meigs Co is closer to his home. Fitzgerald posted a 16-8 record at Hixson, and he led the Wildcats on their deepest ever run in the playoffs by making the state quarterfinals last season.
Former Central coach John Allen has landed a coaching job in Knoxville. He has been named the new head coach at Knox Powell. Allen posted a 10-21 record during his three seasons at Central, but he got the Purple Pounders in the playoffs last year.
