South Pittsburg has hired Calhoun high school defensive coordinator Ricky Ross as their new head football coach. He replaces Vic Grider, who announced he was stepping down after 16 seasons as the Pirates head coach. Grider led South Pittsburg to three state championships. Ross is no stranger to success either.
He went to the state championship game five consecutive seasons with the Yellow Jackets. Grider is still the athletic director at South Pittsburg, and he helped select Ross as his successor.
