KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Tennessee nose guard Daniel McCullers is returning to school for his senior season rather than entering the NFL Draft.

McCullers made the announcement via Twitter and Facebook. He wrote on his Facebook account that "the last year was not the best one but we have all the talent in the world to be great. So with that being said I will be coming back for my senior year."

McCullers, listed at 6-foot-8 and 360 pounds, made 39 total tackles and 5 ½ tackles for loss this season.

Tennessee is expected to return 10 defensive players who made at least six starts in 2012. The Volunteers gave up the most points (35.7) and yards (471.3) per game of any Southeastern Conference team this season.
