Jacob Wheeler's 22 pound haul on the final day of BassFest gave him a victory over Kevin VanDam in the inaugural BassMasters event in Dayton.
The first ever Dayton BassMasters at Lake Chickamauga proved to live up to its name with the nation's top anglers mastering the lake. The top ten caught nearly 400 pounds of fish between them during the event.
Greg Swindle was in the drivers seat most of the day. With two left to weigh in, he just had to get past the legend Kevin Van Dam, and the leader coming into the day Jacob Wheeler. Van Dam knocked Swindle out of the captain's chair with an 84 pound mark for the tournament.
One angler left, he was the leader coming into the day, Jacob Wheeler. There was plenty of suspense, but at the end of the day, Wheeler brings it home with a whopping 22 pound effort, more than good enough to take home the inaugural Bassmasters BASS fest in Dayton.

      BassMaster Final

1. Jacob Wheeler     90-06
2. Kevin VanDam     84-12
3. Matt Herren        83-15
4. Gerald Swindle    74-10
5. Brett Hite           71-05
