Last season, the Vols basketball team upset then 23rd ranked Wichita State, handing the undefeated Shockers their first loss of the year. And as fate would have it, Wichita State is once again undefeated ahead of their game against the Vols on Saturday.
The rematch will take place at an arena in downtown Wichita.
And the city has renamed the street in front of the arena, 'Play Angry Place.'
Apparently the Shockers are trying to avoid a repeat of last season.
Said Wichita State assistant coach Chris Jans,"We're in the same position again. We're 9-0. Certainly it has dawned upon us that we're playing the same opponent with the chance to go 10-0 and break a school record for the best start in school history. Certainly our players are well award of that. We feel obviously with having our home crowd behind us, hopefully it will make a difference down the stretch."
