Braves catcher Brian McCann is undergoing shoulder surgery on Tuesday. His recovery time is expected to be between four and six months, so he may not be available to start next season. McCann's right shoulder bothered him throughout last year. He posted a career low batting average, hitting just .230. The Braves still haven't announced if they will pick up McCann's $12 million option on his contract for the 2013 season.
