Jason Heyward underwent surgery Thursday to repair his fractured jaw. Two plates were placed in Jason’s jaw, one plate on each fracture site. The procedure was performed by Dr. Glenn Maron in Atlanta. The Atlanta Journal Constitution reported on Wednesday that Heyward would be out 4 to 6 weeks, which means he likley would not return to the Braves lineup until the playoffs. Atlanta currently enjoys a 15-game lead over Washington in the NL East standings.
