Braves pitcher Tim Hudson had to leave in the 8th inning against the Mets on Wednesday night after his ankle was stepped on covering first. Eric Young Jr hit a grounder to Atlanta first baseman Freddie Freeman. Hudson was forced to cover first on the play. His foot was on the bag, and as Young was trying to beat the throw from Freeman, he stepped on Hudson's right ankle. Replays were hard to watch as it appeared Young stepped flush on the ankle. Hudson went down immediately grimacing in pain. Even Young seemed to sense the severity of the injury as he came rushing to Hudson's aide. A medical cart was called in for assistance. After Hudson's leg was stabalized, he was carted off the field.
