Hixson-(WDEF) The Titans caravan rolled into Hixson on Wednesday with linebackers Zach Brown and Colin McCarthy on board. Not much they could brag about concerning Tennessee's defense. But both linebackers believe next year will be different, thanks to a key coaching hire.

Titans fans scored plenty of autographs and pictures during the team's caravan stop. Too bad NFL teams scored just as easily on the Titans defense last year. Tennessee gave up more points than any other team in the league. So they brought in former Saints coordinator Gregg Williams to be the new assistant head coach in charge of defense.

Reporter-"How would you describe Gregg Williams?" Said Brown, "Ooh. An intense guy." Reporter-"How does he make a defense more aggressive?" Said McCarthy,"You should see him in the meetings. That'll get you fired up."

Linebacker Colin McCarthy can't wait to be apart of Williams aggressive style. "The way he attacks like I said with different disguises. a lot of blitzes from linebackers, safeties, and corners. I mean everybody is coming, so it's going to be excited."

But being aggressive is not Williams ultimate goal. Said Brown,"Everything we do is about winning. Ever since day one when I met him. We were in a defensive meeting room. He talked about winning. He wants to win the Super Bowl."

Regardless of who's leading the defense, the Titans know they have a lot of work to do this fall. Said Brown,"There are a lot of doubts about us because we are such a young defense. We have to go out there and prove ourselves and play with a chip on our shoulder every game." Added McCarthy, "Teams are known by their defense. What type of personality they have as a team. We've got to be a physical defense. Smack you in the mouth football sounds right."
