Monday night during Prime News at 7:00pm--- our first ever Amy-O-Meter panel.
The Amy-O-Meter is something from my meteorologist days... I would rank the next day's weather by assigning it a number on the Amy-O-Meter, on a scale of 1-10.
Monday we're ranking Superbowl ads on the Amy-O-Meter scale.
Overall, I would have to give the entire night, or the overall effort a "6."
There were some hits, but also plenty of misses, from the night's crop of big budget product pitches.
I've been told my personal favorite from the night doesn't even really count as a 'Superbowl commercial' since it aired just before kick-off. I'm talking about the Hyundai spot with the 'Rocky' theme. Honestly, I was pretty impressed with all of the Hyundai spots. I also noticed there were a lot-- and given how much a Superbowl ad costs... That's pretty impressive for a car company these days.
But the ad I'm talking about involved a frustrated employee exclaiming he can't solve whatever issue he's working on. Apparently, Hyundai has a way to tackle low morale. I give it a solid "9" on the Amy-O-Meter.

What do you think?
